Nicole Richie shows her LNA style in Marie Claire

February 5, 2010 · 2 Comments

Nicole Richie is the cover star of this months Marie Claire showing the ‘Reinvention of Nicole Richie’, to be honest all I see that’s different is the lovely new hair (it really is nice, the fringe and brunette is working, Nic!) ok she looks healthier than we may have seen her in the past, but she’s still very slim and to be honest I’m as bored hearing about her weight as I’m sure she is talking about it! However, Nicole is doing great thinks at the moment, from using her style icon status and style to create House of Harlow or being mummy to her two toddlers.

‘Clothing was something I always wanted to do,’ explains Richie. ‘I’ve been pulling tear sheets from magazines since I was a little girl.’

Nicole’s laid-back LA boho cool is similar to friend and stylist Rachel Zoe, who was made uber-famous for transforming Nicole from Simple Life to Fashion Life, and is very apparent in her newest venture, clothing line Winter Kate, which is based on birds and displays her signature, distinct style.  Nicole’s style and attitude also perfectly matches one of her favourite brands, LNA, which she wore for the Marie Claire shoot (White side tail LNA tee pictured above) and is often seen wearing out and about in in Lala land! I love the cape tee she’s been wearing recently which is from the ss2010 collection and will be in shops very, very soon! I promise to keep you die hard LNA fans posted as this new collection is a-maz-ing!

Read the article and see all the great photos from the shoot at Marie Claire.

Lets get Physical with Grazia and LNA

February 3, 2010 · 2 Comments

First things first, that is a real Chanel rugby ball – I’ve checked, and it cost £550!!! Brilliant, just brilliant! Oh, back to my original point, LNA leggings and zipper cycling shorts are featured in this weeks Grazia magazine in a very stylish Sports Luxe photo shoot.

Sports Luxe is a trend that won’t quit, and will be HUGE this spring/summer. Not just for the gym or the park, this look is all about wearing jogging bottoms with heels, luxe leggings and cycling shorts and jersey pieces. Sportswear inspired clothes mixed with evening and workwear will be all over the highstreet (but make sure you wear it with the highest of heels for an on trend look). So make sure your wardrobe is up to date with some fash-tastic LNA basics, perfect for getting that Sports Luxe look (without paying £550 for a rugby ball that you wouldn’t even want to get muddy!)

Shop LNA at Doll Boutique, Bunny Hug or asos

Insider tip – Bunny Hug have a fantastic sale on LNA at the moment! So hop to it! (Bunny, hop … geddit?!?)

Vogue shows how to master Preppy Boyfriend Dressing

February 2, 2010 · Leave a Comment

The preppy boyfriend trend is here to stay, and boyfriend fit tees, jeans or suit jackets just won’t cut it any more – we need to start wearing menswear! Now before you go and raid your boyfriend’s or brother’s (or even worse, Dad’s) wardrobe and come out wearing head to toe Burtons, we’re talking about carefully selected menswear pieces mixed with your clothes! Vogue has produced a how to guide, inspired by the very sophisticated and stylish actress, Clémence Poésy, and her take on boyfriend dressing. Think lots of layers, tailoring, colours and fabrics to create a grown-up, sexy look.

Look Number 1: A New Blue Suit

This look is a mix of menswear and womenswear, high street and designer. The Dior Homme jacket will go with everything, and the Junk Food tee is a steal at £24.99. And Vogue have spoken, wide-leg jeans must be in again!

Look Number 2:Well Red

This outfit screams  The Great Gatsby and has a louche 20s feel to it; you can dress up as Daisy and run around NYC looking fab-u-lous! The Ralph Lauren trousers are right on trend and the Oscar de la Renta blouse is heart-stoppingly beautiful! A very feminine take on boyfriend dressing!

Look Number 3: Boy Meets Girl

Sorry to take it back to films, but this look is pure Working Girl meets Samantha from SATC – and I love it! The menswear shirt will look amazing loose or with a belt, and fiery, bold jewellery will add edge and a feminine feel to the look. This look will insure all eyes (and ears) are focused on you during the meeting – power dressing with a sexy twist!

These are the 3 key ways to do preppy boyfriend dressing – so what are you waiting for, man up!

The 2010 Grammy Awards – Red Carpet goes Heavy Metal!

February 1, 2010 · 3 Comments

Beyonce at The Grammy Awards 2010

Gold, Silver, Gun-metal, pewter, bronze … if a celeb walking last nights red carpet at The Grammy Awards 2010 wasn’t wearing even a hint of metal on their dress, they clearly didn’t get the memo! Everyone from Gaga to Fergie had blinged up their red carpet look with lots of metal detailing! Beyonce was not only queen of the night for winning 6 coveted awards (breaking all previous records), but she also lead the red carpet trend of the night by dazzling in not one, but TWO gold dresses! I wasn’t so keen on Beyonce’s boxy, corded Stéphane Rolland red carpet dress (below), but loved her embellished mini dress (above).

And after Queen B, the one and only Lady G! She looked a-maz-ing last night in several Armani Prive creations; love it or hate it Gaga knows how to work the red carpet and always insures all eyes are on her! After Armani’s latest ‘Lunar’ couture collection in Paris a few weeks ago, it was clear to see where the inspiration for Gaga’s specially made pieces came from! Covered in sparkles and silver Gaga looked like a very stylish alien who crashed out of orbit (and if Gaga’s rebirth of the leotard tells us anything, the ‘Lunar Look’ is going to be big!)

Going For Gold

These ladies were looking fierce in their gold creations! Katy Perry was showing some serious heavy metal style last night in her hippy flower-power backless dress by Zac Posen (completely adorable!). Ke$ha looked hot to trot in her beaded flapper dress (if you ignore the brown shoes – ick – should have gone all out metal on that one, doll!) Keri Hilson also looked divine in her pale gold Dolce and Gabbana fishtail dress, with added bling from the waist detail and those rings (amazed she could lift her hand! Wowsers!). These three definitely deserve a gold star!

Fool’s Gold

Ok, Ashanti isn’t known for her great style choices, so it’s not surprising to see her in a worst dressed section, but J Lo, love, what were you thinking? Two-face and Victor-Victoria are not style icons, I don’t care that it’s Versace, it’s just bad. And Heidi, some people may like her look, but I think it’s a bit try-hard and showing just a bit to much skin; we all know the rule Heidi, boobs or legs – never both! Top marks for that a-maz-ing figure though Heidi, and really like the shoes!

Pretty in Pewter

Pink, Miley Cyrus and Fergie all looked fashtastic in pewter and silver tones. Pinks ombre fishtail dress (and matching hair) is sophisticated and suits her petite frame perfectly, love love love! Miley looks fresh and like a teenager (not like a 40 year old) in her rock chick Hervé Léger dress and sultry auburn hair. And last but definitely not least is Fergie, looking fergalicious in an Emilo Pucci dress which she look smoking in (maybe ease up on the fake tan though Fergie!) Top marks ladies!

Monochrome Beauties

Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson, Ciara and Lea Michele kept it simple and stylish in black and white. Rihanna looked fantastic in Elie Saab in a dress that could have overwhelmed other celebs, with Riri showing yet again why she’s now a style icon. Jennifer Hudson gave it some Mad Men curves in this Victoria Beckham peplum dress – gorgeous! Ciara proves that Rihanna isn’t the only R’n'B princess who can rock a designer dress in this killer Givenchy creation (Britney Spears also tried to wear a sheer black dress with a leotard underneath, but it was so bad I can’t even bring myself to post the picture! The horror!)

Who was your best dressed of the night? I’m voting Gaga!
