We’ve only just tasted the very beginning of spring / summer 2014 but last week it was all about autumn / winter 2014 at Dust PR’s and B Public Relation’s press days.
Now that’s fashion. We’re dressed for spring and our hearts are set on summer, while the beautiful clothes on display last week enticed us to yearn for autumn. Stunning new collections by Wildfox and Finders Keepers as well as brand new label The Fifth were well perceived by the press, stylists and fashion bloggers who attended the AW14 events.
At Dust PR, guests included editors and stylists of fashion publications Drapers, Elle UK, Glamour, Harpers Bazaar, InStyle, Marie Clare, Refinery 29, Ballad Of Magazine, Company, Cosmopolitan, Tank and Vogue, as well as bloggers Liberty London Girl, Peony Lim, Bunni Punch, Julia Shutenko and Glam & Glitter. Saranne Woodcroft from Vogue loved the Wildfox Union Jack jumpers and the Wildfox sunglasses and commented that, “The pastel sunnies are perfect for summer and festivals”. Lulu Wentworth from InStyle admired the slogan tees but her favourite pieces were the sleepwear, “I would wear this out in summer.” – well, us too! (See how Wildfox combined daywear and sleepwear at New York Fashion Week Fall Winter 2014 back in February) Lindsey and Claire from Ballad of Magazine loved how Wildfox’s new collection took inspiration from all things British, “It’s very quirky… We love that.” NB: Wildfox fans, keep your eyes peeled in June when the next issue of Ballad Of is coming out with an interview with Wildfox creative director Kimberley Gordon.
Trust B PR to choose a stunning venue for their press day and this time was no exception. The PR agency opened the doors of its brand new, super stylish office just off Oxford Street to press, stylists and bloggers. While the upstairs was dedicated to beauty and parenting, the basement was buzzing with excitement over the beautiful fashion on display (aided by the wonderful cocktails that The Travelling Gin Company provided – from a bike!). Fashionistas and fashionisters from titles including Vogue, InStyle, Hello online, Look, TimeOut, Absolutely Magazine, Fabulous, Mail online, Now, Closer, Tank, Reveal, Clique, OK, Emerald Street, Vice, Company, Star, Marie Clare and Love Magazine marvelled at Finders Keepers collections Gattaca, The Upside and Westsider and brand new label The Fifth. The press day marked the UK press launch of hot new Aussie brand The Fifth Label and many visitors expressed their excitement about the launch of this line. The Fifth will be available in the UK from July this year.
