In a creative collaboration with Self Service, fashion illustration student Eugenie Zhan put pen to paper and interpreted two images from the Finders Keepers A Beautiful Ordinary look book and the Field of Dreams campaign shoot.
The student from Australia has been drawing since primary school and has been inspired by her mum who made her own clothes at home and her best friend who she drew a clothing catalogue with. To her, drawing for fashion is addictive.
Eugenie has a step-by-step system that she uses when drawing. Generally, she would first sketch the outline of the head, then the neckline, shoulders and elbows, followed by the torso. It is only once she’s drawn the rest of the body that she draws the clothes. Clothing depend on the body shape, shoes match the design, while the face accompanies the mood of the design.
When asked the about the brand, Eugenie pointed out that she loves Finders Keepers’ creativity and style, especially the modern and unique colours of the collections.
