We loved hearing about all your guilty pleasures for our London Fashion Weekend Junk Food comp! We offered you a chance to win an amazing pair of London Fashion Weekend tickets, held in the heart of LFW, Somerset House, and the chance to nab yourself some amazing bargains too! A big thank you to all that entered, and the winner of the fab prize was Kayleigh (who’s Junk Food addiction was cupcakes – good choice!) and after reading her great blog, we asked her to write a guest post for us about her trip to London Fashion Weekender.
After the thrills of LFW, last Thursday saw the arrival of London Fashion Weekend hitting the capital. It describes itself as “The ultimate designer discount shopping, beauty and fashion event.” I hadn’t been to the event before so was delighted when I won tickets to attend. So on Sunday I popped along to Somerset House to see what all the fuss was about.
This is the first year the event has been held in LFW’s venue, and it was a smart move. After stepping into the gorgeous setting of the courtyard my eyes where captured by all the exquisitely dressed people buzzing around.
My first stop off was at Elizabeth Arden’s beauty counter where one of there lovely makeup artists gave me one of SS10’s key beauty trends; natural make up with hot pink lips. After being beautified I was ready to find out what the 100+ designers had to offer and see if I could nab myself a bargain.
The designers that stood out most were; Alex Monroe who had some beautiful jewellery on offer at heavily reduced prices. They included a charming little bumble bee necklace and feather hoop earrings which were to die for.
Junk Food had an amazing selection of playful T-Shirts available which all the shoppers were eyeing up. They had a collection of cute ones in SS10’s pastel colour shades which would have looked great styled with rolled up chinos, wayfarers and a straw hat or worn with coloured denim jeans for a laid back look.
And the big names like Vivienne Westwood and Just Cavalli were treasure troves that had shoppers queuing up outside to have a peek at what goodies there were waiting to be snapped up.
After exhausting my credit card and heels, I stopped to relax at the Chambord bar and treated myself to a glass of champagne and reflect on what a great day I had at London Fashion Weekend.
