Last night LA played host to the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2010 and saw a huge A-list celeb turn out, but an even bigger and better success rate on the red carpet. The celebs were on fire last night with some gorgeous dresses (and tuxes), with hardly any celebs putting a Louboutin-clad foot wrong in the style stakes (nope, not even Mariah Carey and her, ahem, ‘Golden Globes’). But this blog post is all about the best of the best, so starting with Diane Kruger (above) in her simply stunning mustard gown, here’s the run-down of the red carpet SAG Award winners.
Twilight and Up in the Air star, Anna Kendrick, kept the colour purple alive and kicking (after we saw so much of it at the Golden Globes) in a simple and chic Alberta Ferretti purple dress.
Kate Hudson looked gorgeous and very ’90s Gucci’ in her high neck, backless Emilio Pucci gown. White was a popular colour on the red carpet last night, especially with fellow ‘Nine’ cast members, and Kate looked sexy and sophisticated in her white dress.
Samantha Who? star Christina Applegate looked glowing in this mint green (another red carpet trend from the Golden Globes) Roberto Cavalli chiffon number. I love Christina, and anyone who can look this amazing after so recently battling cancer deserves a huge style salute – she looks a-maz-ing!
Some people may say Sandra Bullock played it safe in this figure hugging Alexander McQueen dress (it’s pretty tame by McQueen standards), but I think she looks fashtastic! Love the blue beading detail around the neckline, it gives a simple, beautifully cut dress extra wow factor. Simple, slick and stunning!
Anna Paquin in becoming one of my favourite red carpet newbies, as she went for short and bold in this to-die-for Alexander McQueen dress from his Plato’s Atlantis Spring/Summer 2010 collection and a beautiful Bardot-esque hairdo. Top marks!
Another person keeping it short and very sweet was Marion Cotillard in Elie Saab. Marian knew that competition between herself and fellow cast members from ‘Nine’ would be as fierce as ever, so made sure she stood out on the red carpet in this fresh and flirty dress and flapper hair do. I heart everything about this dress!
But it wasn’t just the ladies looking luscious on the red carpet, menswear style icon Tom Ford and dapper heartthrob Colin Firth showed the boys how it’s done, looking very sharp in their tuxes.
