Everything’s just peachy at the Golden Globes 2010!

It was the 67th Golden Globes Awards last night; A-list celebs walked the red carpet, awards were won (Avatar won 2 and was the talk of the evening) and Ricky Gervais was actually quite funny, but best of all there were some amazing dresses!!! The theme of the dresses fell into 3 distinct camps; first (and most popular) there was the ‘Peachy Keen’ group who wore every imaginable shade of nude, then there where the ‘Bold Colour’ ladies who wowed in pinks, purples, greens and reds, then finally there was the ‘Back to Black’ beauties who showed that sometimes simple is simply the best.

‘Peachy Keen’

Golden Globes Drew Barrymore in Atelier Versace

Golden Globes Emily Blunt in Dolce & Gabbana

Golden Globes Christina Hendricks in Christian Siriano

Golden Globes Chloë Sevigny in Valentino

Golden Globes Maggie Gyllenhaal in RM by Roland Mouret

Golden Globes Kate Hudson in Marchesa

Golden Globes Christina Aguilera in Versace

Drew Barrymore stole the show in her nude Atelier Versace gown. She cleverly let the dress do the talking with swept back hair and understated make-up and accessories. Atelier Versace is fast becoming a staple on the red carpet and never fails to wow, that coupled with Drews natural beauty and old school hollywood vibe makes a delicious red carpet match! Honourable mention goes to Emily Blunt, in Dolce & Gabbana, who looked simply stunning and Christina Hendricks, in Christian Siriano, who’s jaw dropping curves are sure to drive the men mad (get it? Mad Men! Sorry, awful joke!). Nudes, pastels and delicate, girly fabrics and shapes are going to be HUGE this spring/summer – bring out your inner girly girl!

‘Bold Colour’

Golden Globes Diane Kruger in Christian Lacroix Haute Couture

Golden Globes Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior

Golden Globes Leona Lewis in Roberto Cavalli

Golden Globes Cameron Diaz in Alexander McQueen

Golden Globes Sandra Bullock in Bottega Veneta

Diane Kruger should have looked like a bridesmaid in her pink Christian Lacroix Haute Couture dress, with its layers and layers of pink organza, but the ex-model pulled it off, and looked classically beautiful with her set waves and diamonds. Leona looked fantastic in a beautiful fold detail purple dress by Roberto Cavalli (nice to see her in something other than a Vivienne Westwood corset!). I’m not crazy about Sandra Bullocks purple organza dress, but love the colour and that she tried something unique.

‘Back to Black’

Golden Globes Penélope Cruz in Armani Privé

Golden Globes Kate Winslet in Yves Saint Laurent

Golden Globes Courteney Cox Arquette in Victoria Beckham

Golden Globes Lea Michele in Oscar de la Renta

Golden Globes Jennifer Aniston in Valentino

Penélope Cruz in Armani Privé really worked the rain with an oversized black umbrella that complimented her striking black dress. She’s been couturing it up all over the place for ‘Nine’ premieres, and she didn’t ruin her red carpet A+ rating last night, working the heck out of that full fishtail skirt! ‘Friends’ star and bessy mates Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox Arquette looked fab in black, but Courtney wins this one for me, in the more sophisticated and uber flattering Victoria Beckham dress and sexy up do hair.

Who was your favourite on the red carpet at the Golden Globes? My overall favourite has to be Christina Hendricks, because I can’t stop looking at her – wow!
